This book offers a comprehensive examination of Green Public Procurement (GPP) as a strategic tool for environmental stability. With public procurement representing a substantial share of global GDP and contributing significantly to environmental degradation, the shift toward greener purchasing practices is both urgent and complex. This book explores how countries across the Global South and the Global North are implementing green procurement policies to reduce carbon emissions, promote sustainability, and reshape markets. Featuring cases from over 20 countries including China, India, Nigeria, Spain, France, and Canada, the book reveals the diverse strategies, challenges, and innovations shaping GPP adoption worldwide. From legislative reforms and institutional capacity-building to AI integration and circular procurement, the enclosed contributions offer rich insights into what works, what doesnt, and why context matters.

With contributions from leading scholars and practitioners, and a forward-looking Delphi study on emerging trends, this volume is useful for researchers, students, scholars, practitioners, and policy makers interested in sustainable governance, public policy, procurement reform, environmental policy, and public administration.
