A Viking historical adventure of faith, power, and a king torn between two worlds.

A prince raised in peace. A kingdom forged in war.

Haakon, the youngest son of King Harald Fairhair, is sent to the court of King Aethelstanfar from Norway, far from the life he was born into. In a foreign land, he grows into a skilled warrior, a sharp diplomat, and something rare among Viking kings.

A Christian.

But when news reaches him of his fathers death, Haakon is forced to return homeand face the brother who now rules in blood.

Norway is no longer a place for mercy.

To claim the throne, Haakon must win over chieftains who distrust him, stand against invading forces, and survive a land where his faith is seen as weakness.

To rule, he must choose who he truly is.

A king of peace. Or a king of war.

Haakon the Good is a fast-paced Viking adventure filled with brutal battles, political intrigue, and a powerful clash of faith and traditionperfect for readers of Bernard Cornwell, Peter Gibbons, and Tim Hodkinson.

Since 2016, the Viking authors, Ole Åsli and Tony Bakkejord, have been writing historical fiction together.

Ole Åsli

Ole has a PhD in psychology and a love for a good story.

He lives with his family in Tromsø, in the far north of Norway, where he is a researcher and a lecturer at the Arctic University of Norway.

In his spare time, he reads and writes stories.

Tony Bakkejord

Tony is a Norwegian psychiatrist and forensic psychiatrist. He has a university degree in history, and his favourite subjects are the Roman Empire, the Viking Age and the Second World War.

Tony lives with his wife and three kids in the Bodø, a town just above the Arctic Circle in northern Norway. He spends as much time as possible at his cabin, where he does most of his writing.
