These models use the 998cc engine from the FireBlade, re-tuned to give good midrange rather than ultimate performance. The half-faired CBF1000 is suited to the sensible and practical rider, whereas the streetfighter styling of the naked CB1000R can only be described as extrovert with its hunched-forward look, skinny rear end, and angular cross-section exhaust. Both models are also produced in ABS versions.
