"A fascinating glimpse into the world of science for young readers looking to discover their passion in life." Heidi Grange, School Library Journal

"This upbeat introduction to 18 specialized science careers effectively communicates content through cheerfully busy multipage layouts. In addition to accessibly brief job descriptions (how each profession looks where for what, primarily), visual content is delivered through graphic-rich, kid-friendly cartoons (lots of illustrated sets of samples, artifacts, tools, equipment, and scientists enthusiastically pursuing their passions). Some professions will be familiar: geologist, anthropologist, paleontologist (helpfully compared to archaeologist to distinguish between the two); others are a bit more obscure (bromatologists: experts who try to make healthy foods taste better to increase their appeal). Most entries pose questions about what sort of activities readers enjoy and then encourage a related career. Do you enjoy lying on your belly in the middle of a forest? Then bryology, the study of moss, may be for you. You like getting dirty? Perhaps pedology, the study of soil, is in your future. The book ends with a brief content-based quiz. This fun offering is sure to open up possibilities and spark curiosity." Booklist
