This book reviews the physical-chemical properties of individual and mixed surfactant systems and its application in various industry sectors to produce household and personal care products. The book starts off with experimental along with theoretical approaches to study the microscopic behavior of surfactants. In particular, it looks into a characteristic of surfactant molecules ability to associate into micelles in solutions and the formation of mixed micelles when they are formed from more than one species of surfactant of different nature. Mixed micelles are very useful in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and medicine formulation, enhanced oil recovery, micellar solubilization, dispersion, suspension, anti-corrosion agent as described by the various chapters in this book. This book caters to students and researchers, whose area of interest are surfactant systems and their role in different area of science.

Malik Abdul Rub did Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, India, in 2011. Dr. Abdul Rub Malik currently employed as an associate professor in King Abdulaziz University at Centre of Excellence for Advanced Materials and Research (CEAMR) has been actively involved in research focusing on solution and colloidal behavior of surfactants/amphiphiles, mixed micellization study of amphiphilic drugs with different additives, and thermodynamics of amphiphilic systems. Dr. Malik Abdul Rub has secured more than 300 research articles publications, 2 books, and also communicated the US patent. Dr. Malik also continuously secured position in Top 2% Scientists Worldwide published by Stanford University Dr. Naved Azum is currently an associate professor at Center of Excellence for Advanced Materials Research, King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He has focused on experimental and computational chemistry, particularly on the studies of drug-excipients interactions. Drug-excipient interactions aim to identify, quantify, and predict potential interactions, whether physical or chemical, and assess their impact on the manufacturing, quality, and performance of the final drug product. These studies generally rely on existing knowledge of the physico-chemical properties and degradation mechanisms of drugs and excipients. The studies also explore the influence of several physical factors, in addition to evaluating the direct interactions between the drug and the excipients. These things are known to make drug-excipient interactions more likely and stronger by changing the physico-chemical properties or the rate at which the drugs and/or excipients break down. Dr. Anish Khan is currently working as an associate professor in The Centre of Excellence for Advanced Materials Research, Faculty of Science, King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.  Dr. Khalid A. Alzahrani is working as an associate professor in the Chemistry Department, Faculty of Science, King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He is the chairman of Chemistry Department. Currently, he is also the director of the Center of Excellence for Advanced Materials Research, King Abdulaziz University. He secured more than 50 research articles.
