Editors Gonthier (plant pathology, U. of Turin, Italy) and Nicolotti (forest pathology, U. of Turin) present this forest pathology volume, intended to be of use to forest management and monitoring experts as well as students of forestry and ecology in supplementing existing volumes focused on specific diseases or families of pathogens. The book opens with general material on epidemiology and forest management, then treats non-fungal diseases, with the largest part of the book devoted to a wide variety of fungal maladies, organized by the affected part of the tree. Diseases affecting young plants and special response to invasive pathogens are briefly addressed at the end. Color plates illustrate signs of some diseases as well as application of forest management strategies. Distributed in the U.S. by Stylus Publishing.
