The accuracy and clinical relevance of any particular image relies as much--if not more so--on the way technical data is analyzed and interpreted as on the technology itself. These proceedings of the 11th International Conference on Information Processing in Medical Imaging address a number of subjects currently of interest in the field, with specific emphasis on the mathematical and statistical analysis of information obtained with today's state-of-the-art medical imaging equipment. Individual chapters discuss a variety of issues in these areas: image reconstruction, image analysis, MRI and applications, image analysis and segmentation, and medical applications.
