Technology, artificial intelligence and innovation in medicine are constantly evolving. The overall intention of this book is to illustrate new and innovative ideas in medicine. It highlights new and innovative practices in primary care and medical subspecialties, with a special focus on new and innovative ideas in incorporating health equity and cultural humility. It also provides a comprehensive work of new and innovative ideas that can be used as a guide for medical practice.
Innovation in the World of Medicine is divided into three main sections. The first part is titled new and innovative ideas in medical education and begins with a general introduction to the topic. Definitions, AI, technological innovations, machine learning models and the education-centered medical home, among others, are discussed. The second part discusses new and innovative ideas in health equity/cultural humility. This section contains five chapters including technology as a tool for improving patient safety, innovation and health equity, honing humility skills, innovation in medical decision-making and diagnostic testing and innovations in the delivery of optimized care. The final section of the book details new and innovative ideas in medical specialties and subspecialties.
