Create the garden you want with instant impact – growing doesn't get easier than this!

Created for beginner gardeners, The Instant Garden will give you the confidence to easily transform your outdoor space – whether you’re renting, have your first foot on the property ladder, rejuvenating an unloved garden for the first time, or want to give your garden a refresh. Capturing the essence of the Dig Club’s offering – their ‘Instant’ Beds and Pots model – this book is simple, fun and helpful for those who want instant impact and results in their garden – no matter the size of your space.

The Instant Garden features style guides for six types of garden style – Mediterranean, English Country, Cool Contemporary, Exotic, Wild/Polinator, Scandi – and will be organised into three main sections:
  • An easy-to-understand walkthrough of the principles behind ‘Instant’ beds and pots.
  • A practical section explaining the inspiration and design principles for each style and the colour palette and materials, accompanied by two projects – a raised flower bed and a pot trio.
  • An ‘essentials’ section of simple how-to’s (sowing seeds, making compost, etc) and the tools/products you’ll need.
Henry Bartlam (Author) Henry Bartlam founded Dig in 2021, having finally come up with an idea that seemed good enough to give a go. A keen, amateur gardener for many years, Henry grew up following his Dad around the garden, and then spent many years making the most of his green spaces.

Alexandra Hollingsworth (Author) Alex Hollingsworth co-founded Dig Club and is an experienced and award-winning garden designer, following a successful career in Management Consultancy. Alex trained with the Garden Design Academy of Ireland and also holds an RHS Level 2 Certificate in Horticulture and has had show gardens at Irelands Bloom and Gardeners World Live in the UK.
