Professor Hongfu Li received her doctoral degree from Minzu University of China and now works with the Research Center of Folk Art affiliated to the Chinese National Academy of Arts. She is Deputy Secretary-General of Art Anthropology Society and Executive Director of Minority Costume Society in China. Her research interest consists in folk art, particularly folk embroidery. She has published a dozen of influential papers in this field, authored Chinese Folk Embroidery on Pillow Sides and The Art of Shaman, and co-authored Hand Embroidery.
