Half a decade after Barack Obama withdrew ground troops from Iraq, the world is still picking up the pieces. Iraqi artist Hanaa Malallah and London artist duo kennardphillipps have been working with these very literal pieces since the United States invasion and occupation of the country began. In their exhibition Iraq: How, Where, for Whom , the artists use and modify found objects, archival press images, and digital print technology to grapple with the difficult questions of Iraqi freedom, democracy, and the role of mass media in global perceptions of the conflict.
