Law Meets Film: Taxonomy of an Encounter
Teised raamatud teemal:
This series of eight articles connected by the common theme Law Meets Film presents a thought-provoking analysis of law and legal protagonists as seen in the movies of contemporary filmmakers. It distinguishes courtroom dramas, films on legal problems, and films mirroring law, ranging from illustration of law (education in law schools), over problem awareness (sociological approach) to the questioning of the role and function of law and lawyers (philosophical approach).

The focus lies on the analysis of three successful, contemporary films seen from a legal, sociological, political and artistic perspective. All three are narrative, but they are situated in different cultural and linguistical contexts (France, USA and Turkey). Each film is characteristic for one of the categories, and each of them is discussed by two authors stemming from different countries and backgrounds, but aware of the international perspectives.
