This volume reports on the Institute of Medicine's Roundtable on Evidence-Based Medicine, convened to help transform the way evidence on clinical effectiveness is generated and used to improve health and health care, with the goal to greatly increase use in the future. Private and public-sector health care leaders in the US representing patients, health providers and organizations, product developers, clinical investigators and evaluators, regulators, insurers, employers and employees, and information technology address issues, barriers and solutions, priorities, and areas for collaboration for providing care appropriate to each patient, focusing on prevention and health promotion, delivering the most value, adding to learning, and leading to health improvements. They also provide perspectives on their sectors and key activities, leadership commitments, and initiatives. Results were presented at a two-day workshop, the third in a series. There is no index.
