There will be a queue of excited fans wanting to read Loki: A Bad Gods Guide to Making Enemies (Walker) in the school library this autumn. Stowells hilarious, illustrated series about the Norse god of mischief, trickery and deception has quickly become the most popular in the library. * The Bookseller * Stowell's magnificently funny series about a Norse trickster god trapped in the body of a schoolboy rides again, as a dastardly elf appears in child form to continue his vendetta against the hapless Loki. * Waterstones Septembers Best Childrens Books 2024 * Delightfully funny, with illustrations and comic strips by the author, which make it a visual treat to read. Loki is highly recommended for readers who love a good belly laugh. -- Sarah Webb * Belfast Telegraph * This book is funny and accessible for those who might be reluctant readers and it also manages to sneak in surprisingly heartfelt moments around themes of empathy, self-improvement, and the possibility of change (even for a god of mischief). * The School Librarian * An absolute riot This is such a brilliant series for young readers one with universal appeal and one that is filled with humour from start to finish. * Worlds Smallest Library *

Louie Stowell writes books about magic, gods and monsters (mostly). She has written carefully researched books about space, ancient Egypt, politics and science but eventually lapsed into just making stuff up. She has written fiction for 812 (Nosy Crow and Walker Books US), but Loki: A Bad God's Guide series is her first as both author and illustrator, inspired by her research into Norse myths.

Louie writes full time in London, where she lives with her wife, Karen, and a creepy puppet that is probably cursed.
