Teacher and researcher Dr Helen Barsham has a doctorate from Cambridge University for her research in test anxiety. Her doctoral research focused on how memory works (an aspect of cognitive science) and the theory of self-efficacy, and combined these ideas to create a model that helps children feel more confident when taking exams. She has seen how important this is firsthand she has nearly three decades of experience working in primary and secondary education.
