Taking Canada as a case study of a multicultural society, it uses a mixed methods approach to present insights from racialized politicians and journalists that explore how they navigate the issues of democracy and racism. Drawing on empirical critical race theory, it addresses crucial knowledge gaps about the political realities of people of color in a democratic nation, and how they perceive these experiences to impact the functioning and progress of democracy.
