In peaceful, placid Midwich, the entire child-bearing female population becomes pregnant overnight. Born with strong survival instincts and a monstrous will, the children subdue the villagers into an uneasy alliance. When a violent incident occurs, the social and moral fabric of the village disintegrates and a battle for survival begins which threatens the very existence of humanity.
