Dr smail Hakk Mirici is the director of the Graduate School of Educational Sciences and chair of Foreign Language Education at Hacettepe University, Turkey. He has held administrative roles at Gazi, Krkkale, Akdeniz (Turkey), and Near East (Cyprus) Universities, including coordinator, department chair, and dean. He has actively participated as a member and project leader in various national and international projects. He served as president of the World Council for Curriculum and Instruction (WCCI) from 2011 13 and since February 2024. He is the country coordinator for the European Language Portfolio at the Council of Europe. Dr Mirici has authored twenty books, published over thirty articles, and presented more than fifty papers in national and international scientific conferences and journals. He is the chief editor of the Pegem Education Teaching Journal (PEGEGOG), the International Online Journal of Education and Teaching (IOJET), and the International Journal of Curriculum and Instruction (IJCI).
