Mustafa Owaid obtained his Ph.D. in Mycology in 2014 from the University Of Anbar, Iraq. In 2013, he completed a scholarship program in Nanotechnology at the Mushroom Research Centre (MRC) at the University of Malaya (UM), Malaysia. He has been a lecturer at the Ministry of Education, Iraq, since 2005. He also took a sabbatical leave to study the green synthesis of NPs from mushrooms at Chemistry Dep., Gazi University, Turkey. Currently, he is the Director of the Iraqi Mushroom and Truffle Platform (IQMT).   Yee Shin Tan is a mycologist and Associate Professor at the Faculty of Science, Universiti Malaya, and currently serves as the Head of the Mushroom Research Centre. Her research focuses on the biodiversity, biology and biotechnology of fungi in tropical Southeast Asia. Her work integrates fungal diversity and taxonomy with the discovery, domestication, cultivation and breeding of underutilised tropical mushrooms, linking fundamental mycology to biotechnological applications in food and agriculture. She is also involved in national mushroom poisoning cases and training programs with the Ministry of Health.    Dr Phan Chia Wei is Associate Professor at the Department of Pharmaceutical Life Sciences, Faculty of Pharmacy, Universiti Malaya. His research encompasses pharmaceutical microbiology, immunology, and natural products, with a strong focus on medicinal mushrooms, bioactive compounds, and their applications in functional foods and health-related products. His work integrates upstream production considerations with downstream bioactivity, safety, and translational evaluation. He is actively involved in interdisciplinary research, postgraduate supervision, academic publishing, and international collaboration.
