Professor (Dr.) Jayanta Kumar Biswas is a Professor & Ex-Head, Department of Ecological Studies and International Centre for Ecological Engineering, University of Kalyani, India. He received many awards and fellowships including Fellow, National Institute of Ecology (FNIE); Fellow, West Bengal Academy of Science and Technology (FAScT); Fellow, National Environmentalists Association (FNEA); Fellow, Zoological Society of India (FZSI); Fellow, Zoological Society, Kolkata (FZS); Senior Scientist Award & Gold Medal (ZSI); Best Research Paper Award (AESA); Shrimati Saroma Sanyal Memorial Prize (IEI); Outstanding Reviewer Award (Chemosphere (Elsevier) & Environmental Geochemistry and Health (Springer); SRF (ICAR); National Merit Scholarship (MHRD, GoI), etc. He is credited with publishing 7 books, 35 book chapters and 165 original research papers in reputed international journals. Professor (Dr.) Mahendra Rai is presently a visiting Professor at the Department of Microbiology, Nicolaus Copernicus University, Torun, Poland. Formerly he was Professor and Head of the Department of Biotechnology, Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Maharashtra State, India. He was a visiting scientist at the University of Geneva, Debrecen University, Hungary; the University of Campinas, Brazil; VSB Technical University of Ostrava, Czech Republic, National University of Rosario, Argentina, and the University of Sao Paulo. He has published more than 425 research papers in national and international journals, with 85 h-index. In addition, he has edited/authored more than 70 books and 6 patents. His area of interest includes microbial nanotechnology and nanobiotechnology with special reference to nanoantimicrobials. Recently, he has been featured in Stanfords list of the top 2% of scientists in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. As per research.com ranking, he has been ranked #15 in India among the best scientists for 2023 in biology and biochemistry.
