Twas the night before Christmas, with a wonderful twist! Lewis Carroll's classic Wonderland returns but this time instead of Alice, it's Santa's turn for an adventure down the rabbit hole. Join the Cheshire-Cat, the Mad Hatter, and the reindeer for a tea party with lots of festive fun!

The Queen of Hearts hates Christmas she's banned tinsel, mince pies and even good cheer because when she was a little Princess the White Rabbit was late delivering her letter to Father Christmas and she didn't receive a present. But one snowy Christmas Eve, Santa finally receives her letter and races to deliver her gift! Will Santa and his reindeer be able to put the Merry back into Christmas in Wonderland?

From the original publisher of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, written by debut author Carys Bexington and illustrated by star artist Kate Hindley, The Night Before Christmas in Wonderland is a fun mash-up of two classics, showing the true meaning of Christmas is to be kind.

Arvustused

Carys Bexington's witty and ingenious rewriting of the poem 'Twas The Night Before Christmas', to incorporate language and characters from Lewis Carroll, tells a rollicking story in which the Queen of Hearts learns the first rule of Christmas: be kind. The Night Before Christmas in Wonderland is illustrated by Kate Hindley with stylish inventiveness and touches of madness and modernity. * The Times * A true Christmassy delight. * Mail on Sunday * The most magnificent mash-up of two well-loved stories. This hilarious adventure through the night sky to wonderland is a pure delight to read. * Baby Magazine * A glorious mash-up of two classic stories. Hindleys illustrations are a delight both warm and friendly, and full of expressive characters with many a curious creature to spot, and Bexingtons narrative brims with charm. Full of madness and mayhem this collision of Christmas and Wonderland is a spectacular event not to be missed. -- Emma Dunn and Sandra Mallon * The Scotsman * The Night Before Christmas in Wonderland fast became a favourite bedtime story in our house this December; Ive loved reading it aloud the jaunty rhythm and rhyming text make it lots of fun. This book is going to be part of our Christmas traditions for many years to come * Get Kids Into Books *

Muu info

In Wonderland nothing is ever as it seems, especially one Christmas Eve when Santa and his reindeer arrive with a special delivery!
Kate Hindley lives in Bristol. She studied illustration at Falmouth College of Art, and went on to work for two years as a childrens print designer at a studio in Northampton, whilst working freelance on childrens books and greetings cards. She has exhibited with her good chums Girls Who Draw and Inkygoodness across the UK, and had a jolly good time painting up a totem pole for the Pictoplasma Character Walk exhibition 2011. Kates first picture book The Great Snortle Hunt, written by Claire Freedman, was longlisted for the 2013 Kate Greenaway Medal. Since then Kate has provided illustrations for a number of bestselling picture books including How to Wash a Woolly Mammoth, You Must Bring a Hat and Worst in Show.

Carys Bexington was born and raised near the Jurassic Coast in West Dorset. She spent her childhood climbing every single tree in the fields around her familys old and draughty farm house, filling jotter after jotter with illustrated stories of her adventures. Though, her drawing skills have not improved, she hopes that her rhyming tales capture her love for a good old fashioned quest and soft spot for characters who dont always make the best choices. She lives and works near the seaside in West Dorset and The Night Before Christmas in Wonderland is her debut picture book.
