Ed Edwards' play Ordinary Decent Criminal is a tale of freedom, revolution and messy love. It is premiered in 2025 by Paines Plough, Live Theatre, Theatre Royal Plymouth and Ellie Keel Productions in association with Synergy Theatre Project, in a touring production starring Mark Thomas as Frankie.
Ed Edwards is a playwright, screenwriter and novelist.



His plays include: Ordinary Decent Criminal (Paines Plough, 2025); England & Son (Edinburgh Fringe & Manchester HOME, 2023); and The Political History of Smack and Crack (Edinburgh Fringe & Soho Theatre, 2018).



He has had several original plays broadcast on Radio 4 as well as short films on Channel 4 and BBC2, and has written for several continuing TV drama dramas. He is co-artistic director of Most Wanted Theatre, which he runs along with Eve Steele.
