Pesticide and Nutrient Management: Application Based Problem-Solving in Agriculture is a two-volume set designed to bring together science and theory with practice in the field. Pesticides, fertilizer, and fuel are discussed in numerous books and journals, but the details of practical use are often lacking. Scientifically accurate yet easily accessible, each volume is richly illustrated and can be used as a textbook, training manual, and reference guide.

The first volume covers storage and use of pesticides and fertilizers. It begins with guidelines on selecting and maintaining tanks used for storage or transportation. It then discusses measuring pesticides, avoiding incompatibility when mixing chemicals, and using adjuvants to increase effectiveness. Additionally, the volume addresses spraying equipment such as nozzles and spray drones. The book ends with two chapters on the maintenance and cleaning of spraying equipment to avoid contamination, as well as winterizing equipment for an easy spring startup.

The second volume covers topics related to general maintenance and security. It begins with often-overlooked aspects of maintenance: oils, lubricating grease, nuts, hoses, and tires. It then moves on to transportation safety, such as securing a load, driving a spray rig, and extracting a stuck vehicle. The third section discusses security planning and emergency response. Finally, the volume ends by touching on environmental security such as the causes of fish kills and honeybee problems.
