Written for systems and network administrators, this guide introduces and explores the Linux operating system, beginning with the differences between Windows and Linux and basic skills such as how to install Linux as a server, the KDE and Gnome desktops, installing software, and managing users. The second half of the book describes the services needed to run an Internet site and the services offered only to users on an internal network. Annotation (c) Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)

Perfect for systems and network administrators migrating from Windows NT to Linux, or experimenting with bringing Linux into their network topology. Even novice users will find plenty of helpful information on administering the open source operating system—including installation, initial configuration, using the bash command shell, managing files, managing software, and granting rights to users.
