This volume contains monographs prepared at the 63rd meeting of the Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA), which met in Geneva, Switzerland in June 2004. Written by leading food safety experts in academia and industry, the nine papers summarize the safety data on food additives such as benzoyl peroxide, steviol glycosides, and lutein. These are followed by monographs on eight groups of related flavoring agents. Although the volume lacks an index, a detailed table of contents serves a similar purpose.
