Sonochemistry for Textile and Fibre Engineering introduces major topics related to sonochemical processing, including sonocleaning, scoring, dye extractions, sonodyeing, printing, ultrasound enzyme-assisted finishing, and sonosynthesis of nanoparticles for textile modifications. The book highlights a broad range of potential applications with an emphasis on how sonochemistry allows for the development of novel, prominent functionalities on different natural and synthetic textile substrates. Providing a comprehensive overview of the latest research in the textile sonochemistry area coupled with contributions from leading researchers in this field, this book is a valuable resource for both academia and industry interested in textile chemistry and fiber engineering.

Conventional textile production is an energy-hungry process characterized by the huge consumption of water and other chemicals. To overcome these challenges, interest in advanced sustainable technologies in textile chemical processing have been growing exponentially over recent years. With recent breakthroughs in the textile sector involving sonochemistry, the consumer market is expanding, with textiles finding a wide range of applications in the field of defense, the medical sector, sports, fire protection, radiation protection, etc. Sonochemistry offers several advantages in terms of energy savings, low environmental impact, ease of use, economy, and high treatment speed, and therefore has rapidly gained attention in the textile industry.
