A celebration of space exploration told through the visual imagination of great dreamers from the sixteenth century to the present day.

The universe is alluring and mysterious. A place of wonder and terror. We know its under no obligation to make sense to us, and yet . . .

Space Journal is a visual celebration of our perception of the cosmos, and our efforts to reach it, from the seventeenth century to the present day. Dallas Campbell weaves together priceless archival memorabilia, revolutionary experiments and spectacular scenes to map both real and potential encounters with our celestial backyard.

From Galileos shopping list to speeches annotated in President John F. Kennedys own hand, from The War of the Worlds to Space Invaders, Campbell sets out the radical thinkers and doers who have launched us towards the final frontier.
