This volume celebrates the 175th anniversary of the founding of St Mary's University (then St Mary's Training College). Through a series of short essays on aspects of university life and the institution's history, augmented by a collection of more than 100 associated colour photographs of items from the university's archives, the book paints a fascinating picture of the rich history of this thriving and inclusive Catholic university.
Mary-Ann McClaran is working in a voluntary capacity in the historic archives at St Marys University following a career in education administration. She holds a masters in medieval studies and is currently studying for an MLitt in archives and records management.
Angela Platt is a senior lecturer at St Marys University, specializing in cultural history of the eighteenth to the early twentieth centuries.
