Nicci Johnson was born to a Jamaican father and Trinidadian mother and spent her childhood exploring both these islands before returning to the UK to study veterinary science and work both as a general practitioner and ophthalmologist. She has published short stories and poetry in UK anthologies, but it wasn't until her children's novel The Little Witch from London made the FAB 2021 shortlist, that she took the jump to pursue writing full time. She now resides in Surrey with rescue animals, her husband, and is a mother to three boys, one with special needs whose cheerful outlook inspires her daily.
