Noting the connection between problem solving and the ability to play strategy games, the authors present strategy games that parallel the kind of thinking that mathematicians use in problem solving. They provide games from around the world, including tic-tac-toe games, blocking games, games requiring an ongoing change of strategies, and miscellaneous games, and end with suggestions and strategies for them.
