This book provides a groundbreaking edited collection on sustainable development practices in aquaculture. As the global demand for sea food continues to rise, it is necessary to address the environmental, social and economic challenges associated with conventional aquaculture methods. This comprehensive book examines the crucial intersection of environmental responsibility, economic viability, and United Nations Development Goals (UNDGs), offering a holistic view of innovative solutions and best practices to ensure the long term viability of aquaculture while preserving the health of aquatic ecosystems in a sustainable way. The book provides an overview of the current status of aquaculture globally, highlighting its significance in meeting growing demand of food for rapidly increasing population. It will highlight successful case studies and best practices from around the world and offers timely and relevant insights for farmers, policymakers, researchers, environmentalists and anyone interested in sustainable food production. This book will be authored by leading experts and practitioners (from India, Singapore, Malaysia, China, Canada, USA, Egypt, South Korea, Australia Zambia, Saudi Arabia and Thailand) with diverse backgrounds in aquaculture science, environmental management and sustainable development. It covers a wide range of central topics such as Aquaponics, Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS), Antimicrobial Resistance, Shrimp farming, Organic aquaculture practice and green synthesized nanotechnology against fish pathogens. Each book chapter addresses a critical aspect of sustainability. The interconnected chapters provide a cohesive narrative that provides a comprehensive picture of the challenges and opportunities in modern aquaculture sustainability. The book aims to inspire positive changes in the aquaculture industry and provides a roadmap for sustainable development. Whether you're a researcher, aquaculture professional or a concerned citizen, stakeholder, and/or policy maker, this book will inspire and inform, urging us all to play a role in shaping a more sustainable future.
