Studies the measures being taken to protect marine environments affected by international and national trade.

Trade and the marine environment are inextricably linked. How is this link considered at international, regional, and national levels to ensure that a balance is struck between trade and the protection of the marine environment?

The plurality of approaches and measures to protect the marine environment through trade and investment also raises important questions about their effectiveness and prospects. These are the key questions this book seeks to answer. The in-depth analyses in the eighteen contributions center around three axes of reflection on trade and marine protection. They consistently indicate the need for greater cooperation in the international community to solve the growing challenges facing the world and to ensure the sustainability of our lives and our planet.
