This compelling book delves into the complex issue of children and youth radicalization, beginning with a broad global perspective before narrowing its focus to the specific contexts of Syria and Iraq. It provides an in-depth analysis of the radicalization processes before, during the rise and fall of ISIS, as well as the post-ISIS era. The book is grounded in primary data collected from interviews with individuals who have intimate knowledge and experience with children and youth radicalization in Syria and Iraq. These interviews include insights from policymakers, community leaders, local community members, and representatives and staff of local NGOs. Additionally, the book incorporates data from surveys to provide a comprehensive understanding of the issue. This meticulously researched work is essential reading for anyone seeking to understand the factors driving radicalization among young people in these regions.
