This book is a new edition of an established textbook. Some outdated parts are removed, and the authors look more into modeling and simulations, especially using AI.

Introduction.- Methods in Trauma Biomechanics.- Head Injuries.- Spinal
Injuries.- Thoracic Injuries.- Abdominal Injuries.- Injuries of the Pelvis
and the Lower Extremities.- Injuries of the Upper Extremities.- Impairment
and injuries resulting from chronic mechanical exposure.- Ballistic and Blast
Trauma.- Solutions to exercises.
Dr. Kai-Uwe Schmitt lectures on trauma biomechanics and biomechanics of sports injuries and rehabilitation at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zürich). He is also a professor heading the AcademicPracticePartnership between the Department of Health Professions at Bern University of Applied Sciences and Bern University Hospital, Switzerland.

Dr. Duane Cronin is a Professor in Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Waterloo and Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Trauma Biomechanics and Injury Prevention. His research interests include computational human body models to predict crash induced injuries, blast and ballistic injury mitigation, and high deformation-rate material characterization.

Dr. Barclay Morrison is a professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Columbia University striving to reduce the societal costs of traumatic brain by understanding the initiating biomechanics and its ensuing pathobiology.

Dr. Jack Callaghan is a professor in Kinesiology and Health Sciences at the University of Waterloo, the Canada Research Chair in Spine Biomechanics and Injury Prevention, and the director of the Centre of Research Expertise for the Prevention of Musculoskeletal Disorders. His research interests focus on the etiology of spine injuries from cumulative loading exposures.   Dr. Markus Muser is a co-founder and current director of the AGU Zurich. Having worked in the area of trauma biomechanics since 1993, his main interests are in WAD, safety of vulnerable road users, and safety of low-mass vehicles. He lectures on trauma biomechanics at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zürich).
