The book deals with the detailed biochemistry of cellular respiration in a clear step-by-step format. It is designed to be used by undergraduate students (as well as teachers) as a resource text. The main advantage over the standard biological texts is that the authors are able to treat the subject in the depth required to make it clear and easily understood. The other standard texts are usually overly concise and superficial. Clarity is achieved by breaking down each aspect of the respiratory cycle into a series of numbered stages that are discussed in detail. The text includes student-oriented questions designed to make the reader consider the topic in more depth. Revision points and diagrams are also included at the end of each chapter.
