The book offers a comprehensive and practical guide to advanced minimally invasive surgical equipment, presenting laparoscopic, robotic, and laser systems in a clear, structured, and clinically relevant format.  Modern surgery is increasingly driven by sophisticated technology, where laparoscopy, robotics, and laser platforms demand not only refined surgical skill but also a thorough understanding of the systems that power them. The book fills this gap. Authored by experts from across continents, it brings a truly global perspective integrating diverse experiences, shared insights, and unified standards to elevate minimally invasive surgical practice worldwide.  The book systematically explains fundamental principles and working mechanisms, system components and configuration, preventive maintenance protocols, common errors with troubleshooting strategies, and practical workflow integration within the operating room. The content follows a logical sequence that mirrors real-time operating theatre workflowfrom equipment setup to intraoperative management and problem resolution. Rich, easy-to-follow diagrams simplify complex systems, enabling quick identification of components and clear understanding of their functions, while each chapter follows a standardized layout for clarity and consistency.  Designed as a ready reference for every operating room practicing minimally invasive surgery, this manual ensures safe, efficient, and standardized equipment use. It is invaluable for surgeons, residents, fellows, OT assistants, technicians, biomedical engineers, nursing staff, and even undergraduate students and interns seeking strong conceptual foundations and exam preparation support.

Jasmeet Singh Ahluwalia, FNB (Minimal Access Surgery), FBMS (Taiwan), is a fellowship-trained minimally invasive and bariatric surgeon with advanced expertise in laparoscopic and laser-assisted surgical technologies. He completed his post-doctoral training in Minimal Access Surgery (FNB) followed by specialized fellowship training in Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery in Taiwan, gaining extensive exposure to advanced operative techniques and high-volume minimally invasive surgical practice. Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Ahluwalia has been actively involved in the conceptualization, planning, and commissioning of modern operating theatres, with particular emphasis on technology integration, equipment selection, workflow optimization, and safety standardization. His hands-on experience in procurement and implementation of advanced minimally invasive surgical systems has given him a strong systems-based understanding of the engineering, functional, and maintenance aspects of surgical equipmentan area often underrepresented in traditional surgical education. He has authored multiple book chapters and peer-reviewed publications in laparoscopic and bariatric surgery and maintains a sustained academic interest in surgical technology, ergonomics, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting protocols, and structured equipment-based training for operating room teams. An active educator and invited faculty member at national and international scientific meetings, he regularly conducts live surgical workshops and structured training programs aimed at advancing technical precision, workflow efficiency, and patient safety. For this publication, he led the coordination of distinguished experts from across continentsan ambitious and demanding global collaboration requiring academic integration and editorial leadershipreflecting a shared international commitment to elevating standards in minimally invasive surgical practice.
