Etosha National Park is one of Africa’s greatest wildlife sanctuaries, celebrated for its stark beauty, sweeping plains, and extraordinary diversity of wildlife. At its heart is Etosha Pan, the remnant of an ancient inland lake, now desiccated and bleached for most of the year. Yet along its fringes, springs and waterholes sustain an astonishing abundance of life: elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, springbok and gemsbok gather in great herds – trailed by the lions, cheetahs andleopards that follow in their wake.Part celebration, part guide, A Visitor’s Guide to Etosha National Park is both a record of the park’s natural history and a handy companion for those who come to explore it, offering insights into its history, ecology and conservation, and practical advice on where to go, what to see, and how best to experience this unforgettable wilderness.

This handy visitor’s guide to Namibia’s flagship national park combines detailed insights into the rich and diverse history, wildlife and landscapes of Etosha National Park, combined with practical advice on planning, ac-commodation, self-drive routes and prime wildlife viewing.
