"When good friends in the Ice Age play a game of hide and seek, Wolf is aided by his snow-white fur that blends in with the arctic landscape"-- Provided by publisher.

Welcome to the Nice Age! Wally is looking for his friend, Wolf. It’s time to play hide-and-seek! Come out, come out, wherever you are! A giggle-inducing, unjacketed, lower-priced hardcover picture book about friendship and competition that is perfect for emerging readers by the multiple Geisel Award–winning Corey R. Tabor and illustrator Dalton Webb. For fans of Elephant and Piggie and Narwhal and Jelly.

Wolf and Wally are playing hide-and-seek. But hiding is hard for mammoths, and seeking is even harder! Especially when Wolf has a superpower: snow white fur that camouflages perfectly with the snowy Arctic landscape.

Will Wally find Wolf? Will Wolf find Wally? And what about Otto the great auk, who discovers his own unique (and silly) hiding spot? Who knows! But there will be sweet treats all around for this sweet group of Ice Age friends.

Wally Mammoth: Hide-and-Seek is the second title in a laugh-out-loud funny, comic-inspired series about a group of unforgettable friends—created by friends themselves, illustrator Dalton Webb and the Geisel Award–winning author Corey R. Tabor. These unjacketed, lower priced, picture books make reading fun and are a perfect choice for emerging readers, for developing visual literacy, and for sharing together.

Arvustused

Wally and Wolfs world, rendered by Webb in digital watercolor and pencil, is full of endearingly rough edges and cute details. Wallys tiny tusks, the coils of light glowing around the sun to stretch out shadows, and the little snowman that Wolf builds while hiding are a few examples of the personality embedded in the artwork, sure to hold readers attention. Cheery snowy day fun capped with warm treatswhat could be better? Kirkus

A story about perseverance, friendship, and cookies, with a clever science-based solution. Young children will relate to the desire to win, be encouraged not to give up or get grumpy when things get hard, and will cheer at the simple yet brilliant conclusion. Sentences are short and lightly repetitive, which will help emerging readers. Illustrations are done with digital watercolor and provide brightly hued definition and contrast to the wintry world.
