Dong Ping, a Distinguished Qiushi Professor, Doctoral Supervisor at the School of Philosophy, Zhejiang University, and a recipient of the Special Government Allowance of the State Council, now serves as President of Zhejiang Jishan Wang Yangming Research Institute, Vice President of the International Confucian Federation, Vice President of the Chinese Society for the History of Philosophy, Vice President of the Zhonghua Confucius Society, and Research Fellow of Zhejiang Provincial Museum of Literature and History.
His main research areas include pre-Qin Confucianism and Taoism, Neo-Confucianism of the Song and Ming dynasties, the Eastern Zhejiang School, and Chinese Buddhist philosophy. His representative monographs include A Critical Biography of Chen Liang, A Study of the Tiantai School, A History of Thought and Scholarship in Zhejiang: From Wang Chong to Wang Guowei, WangYangmings Living World - The Path to Sagehood, An Interpretation of the Laozi, An Extensive Discussion on Pre-Qin Confucianism, Song-Ming Confucianism and Eastern Zhejiang Scholarship, and Taoism, Buddhism, and Indian Philosophy.
