Trevor Rushton is a Chartered Building Surveyor and Chartered Building Engineer, a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers. He qualified as a Building Surveyor in 1983.

He has been involved with and the editor of the Watts Pocket Handbook virtually since its inception in 1983. He is the author of Investigating Deleterious and Hazardous Building Materials and Defects in Industrial and Commercial Buildings both published by RICS Books. He has contributed numerous articles to the Built Environment Journal, was involved in the initial development of ISURV and is a regular speaker at RICS conferences and seminars.
