On the occasion of McLeod's retirement from the U. of Wisconsin-Madison, Dunwoody and others at his campus and beyond pay tribute to his contributions to mass communication research. Contributors to ten chapters cite his innovative work on political socialization in a democracy, but also discuss alternatives to the McLeod approach. Douglas McLeod examines his father's broad influence through a citation analysis.
