This volume of Folia Baeriana follows the style established at the beginning ot the series (1975) - studies on the history of science are combined with the results of contemporary research in various other fields covered by the work of K. E. v. Baer - geography, biology, anthropology, ethnology, medicine, theory and philosophy of development.
