Jaytilak Biswas received his bachelors and masters degrees in mechanical engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, and PhD from the Industrial Management Department of the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru. He worked about three-and-a-half decades at senior executive positions of various public sector enterprises and Government of India.
