The five papers selected for the 2014 edition of this annual series present new research on the spatial organization of public libraries and the library building as a public space for accessing information. A paper from the University of Vilnius applies discourse theory to the perception of academic administrators outside the library in Lithuanian universities and identifies external factors affecting their strategic activity and development plans. The other four papers were penned by American academics on open access strategies, merging large libraries, librarian evaluation language, and new service model floor plans.
