This book compiles the proceedings of the 18th AVMS Conference, held in Timioara, Romania, on May 3031, 2025. The conference covered a wide range of topics in acoustics and vibration, including:

Noise and vibration control Noise and vibration generation and propagation Effects of noise and vibration Condition monitoring and vibration testing Modelling, prediction, and simulation of noise and vibration Environmental and occupational noise and vibration Noise and vibration attenuators Biomechanics and bioacoustics

The book also explores analytical, numerical, and experimental techniques for addressing both linear and non-linear noise and vibration issues, with a particular focus on strongly non-linear problems. It highlights the latest trends and state-of-the-art developments in these fields.

This publication is designed for academics, researchers, professionals, and PhD students working in various domains related to the acoustics and vibration of mechanical structures.
1. Control of Self-Excited Vibrations in Smooth and Non-Smooth Systems.-
2. Models of Electrostatically Fringe Field Actuated MEMS Resonators.-
3. New
Developments in Perturbation Based Analytical Techniques with Applications to
Nonlinear Dynamics.-
4. Nonlinear Vibration of Piezoelectric Energy Harvester
under Mechanical Impact.-
5. Truly Nonlinear Oscillator with
Position-Dependent Mass.
Nicolae Herisanu is a professor at the University Politehnica Timioara, Romania (UPT), with over 30 years of teaching and research experience in theoretical and applied mechanics, acoustics, and vibration. Alongside Vasile Marinca, he co-authoredthree acclaimed monographs, Nonlinear Dynamical Systems in Engineering, The Optimal Homotopy Asymptotic Method, and Optimal Auxiliary Functions Method for Nonlinear Dynamical Systems (Springer, 2011, 2015, and 2021). The second monograph earned the Romanian Academy's prestigious award in 2017. Professor Herisanu serves on the editorial boards of several reputable journals and has contributed to numerous national and international research projects.

Vasile Marinca is a corresponding member of the Romanian Academy and a senior researcher at the Centre for Fundamental Technical Research (CCTFA) under the Romanian Academy's Timioara branch. He is also a senior researcher at the University Politehnica Timioara, where he taught and conducted research in theoretical and applied mechanics and applied mathematics for nearly 40 years. Dr. Marinca has authored over 200 papers in esteemed journals and conference proceedings.
