Dr. Laia Subirats is an Associate Professor at Open University of Catalonia. Dr. Laias interests focus on artificial intelligence applied to neurological disabilities. Her research aims to establish a diagnosis of the quality of life and also perform social network analysis. Her interests also include artificial intelligence applications of citizen science, where she contributed to neurological diseases and seawater quality. Finally, she has also applied artificial intelligence to the world of education, focusing on the impact that COVID-19 has had on higher education, intelligent tutors, and multimodal streaming data analysis. Overall, she has published more than 30 articles in journals and conferences such as Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence, PLoS ONE, International Journal of Neural Systems, NPJ Digital Medicine, Journal of Biomedical Informatics, ACM Web Science Conference, IEEE Frontiers in Education Conference and IEEE Symposium on Computer-Based Medical Systems.
