The 13th International Symposium on Advanced Vehicle Control (AVEC'16) will be held from September 13th to 16th 2016 in Munich, Germany. The AVEC Symposium has a long and successful history as one of the leading international conferences on vehicle dynamics and advanced vehicle control. The first symposium was held in 1992 in Yokohama. Since then, AVEC has been established internationally and was, outside of Japan, previously held in Aachen, Ann Arbor, Arnhem, Taipei, Loughborough and Seoul.

The main objective of the symposium is to bring together the world's leading scientists and experts in the fields of vehicle dynamics and advanced vehicle control. Latest developments and progress in research will be presented and discussed at the symposium and new impulses be given. As the vehicle continues its evolution into an increasingly ‘scientific’ product at a rapid pace, cross-fertilization between industry and academia cultivated by AVEC symposia is more relevant than ever and an opportunity not to be missed.

AVEC'16 will put a special focus on automatic driving and autonomous driving functions, integrated control of interacting control systems, controlled suspension systems, active wheel torque distribution and vehicle state and parameter estimation. Because automatic driving is not ready to go into mass production in the near future, the driver's assistance is seen as a bridge technology in this direction and will be focused on at AVEC'16 as well.
