Artificial intelligence has become impossible to ignore. One can either choose to engage with it or blindly place trust in everything it does. This publication aims to provide insight and raise awareness by presenting examples of AI applications in everyday scenarios. AI supports both private and professional uses, ranging from speech recognition and voice assistants to medical diagnostic systems and facilitates human-machine interactions. Industrial applications extend across the entire value chain: from development, supplier search, and procurement to logistics, production, and marketing & sales. Throughout these processes, data is continuously collected and used at every stage to optimize subsequent operations. Building on this foundation, the book outlines the future prospects and directions of AI development, as well as the driving forces behind its advancement. Ethical challenges and issues of fairness are posed to make readers aware of these problems and to prevent a crisis of trust in AI. Another central focus is on practical scenarios within personal environments. The book concludes with a vision for the coexistence of humans and artificial intelligence.
