The text offers a basic introduction to the Polish language, and is intended for English speakers. Each chapter, or unit, contains several exercises, and it is recommended that the reader complete several units, and then backtrack to revise. Each unit tackles a specific grammatical area, such as direct object, nouns, verbs, prepositions, numbers, etc. There are numerous pronunciation tips, as well as up-to-date examples of word usage. Appendices include a discussion of how grammar works in general, how one may successfully study an inflected language, and lists of question words and particular verbs. The text ends with a Polish-English dictionary and an index. The self motivated adult learner will find this to be a helpful text. Annotation ©2015 Ringgold, Inc., Portland, OR (protoview.com)
