By surveying a variety of projects and approaches to the difficult conservation-digitization balance, and in fostering a dialogue amongst practitioners that can be thought of as having contrasting goals, this book is a tool for a variety of research, policy making, and practical purposes, and demonstrates that a dialogue between apparently contrasting fields not only is possible, but it is in fact desirable and fruitful.
